Reinhardt University Winds
The Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds, under the direction of Dr. Daniel Kirk. With approximately 50 members, their sound is impressive and inspiring.
Dr. Daniel Kirk is excited to join the Reinhardt University School of Performing Arts Faculty as Director of Instrumental Activities. He recently completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Wind Conducting at Michigan State University where he was actively involved in teaching and assisting all aspects of the band program in the College of Music. Before pursuing graduate study in conducting, Kirk served as Director of Bands at Blue Valley West High School in Overland Park, Kansas. Daniel was nationally awarded the George N. Parks Leadership in Music Education Award by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) in 2012.
A native of Emporia, Kansas, Kirk received his Bachelor of Music Education and Piano Performance degrees at Missouri Western State University (2007) and his Master of Music degree in wind conducting from Northwestern University (2015). He credits mentors Dr. Mallory Thompson (conducting), Dr. David Bennett (piano), and Jane Wheat (piano). Kirk has professional affiliations with the College Band Directors National Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Kappa Kappa Psi.
